Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic Middle/High School cross-categorical setting. This role focuses on supporting students with a wide range of mild-to-moderate disabilities, integrating them in one inclusive classroom to maximize learning and growth. Located in a vibrant community near Pulaski, WI, the assignment runs from August 18, 2026, through June 10, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Wisconsin Cross-Categorical Special Education certification (License #2801) is required
  • Prior experience working with students on the autism spectrum and demonstrated expertise supporting their unique educational needs
  • Background teaching in a cross-categorical environment or with diverse learning challenges strongly preferred
  • Ability to design and implement differentiated lesson plans in alignment with individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication skills to foster strong relationships with students, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Instruct and support students with learning disabilities, emotional behavior disorders, mild intellectual disabilities, and other challenges within the same classroom
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized goals and progress for each student
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to coordinate comprehensive support
  • Facilitate positive behavior strategies, classroom management, and social-emotional learning
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with families and stakeholders
