Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification or eligibility for certification
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to adapt instructional methods to student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction for students with a range of exceptionalities
- Develop and implement goals for students IEPs and participate in IEP meetings
- Assess student progress, collect data, and adjust strategies as needed
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Communicate regularly with families to address goals and progress
- Support students social, emotional, and behavioral growth
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to state and local guidelines
