As part of a high school special education team, youll work closely with students who have emotional and behavioral disorders or significant behavioral needs in a specialized, self-contained classroom setting. Key Qualifications:

  • Active Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for Secondary grade band
  • Compliance with the Right to Read Actcertified in or willing to complete Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency within one year of hire

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to high school students with EBD or severe behavioral challenges
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Lead a self-contained/sub-separate classroom, collaborating with other staff and service providers
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies to support academic, emotional, and behavioral growth
