A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to cover a maternity leave from mid-October to mid-January. Key Qualifications
- Valid Special Education Educator Certificate
- Experience teaching or supporting students with varying abilities
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teacher assistants
- Commitment to student-centered, inclusive education
- Ability to create and maintain a safe, supportive classroom community
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide daily instruction to a class of approximately eight students with the support of three talented teacher assistants
- Deliver established curriculum focused on life skills and academic progress
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual student needs
- Foster independence and confidence in students through engaging and differentiated instruction
- Communicate regularly with families and team members to track student growth
- Maintain accurate records, plans, and assessments aligned with school and IEP standards
