A rewarding opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to step into a full-time, contract role supporting a third-grade classroom from mid-September through December. This position is situated in a welcoming elementary environment near Providence, RI, and serves as a substitute during a valued staff members maternity leave. Working Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 3:30pm, you'll play a key role in guiding and supporting young learners during an important stage of their education.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Rhode Island Special Education Teacher Certification (required)
- Previous experience in special education, especially with elementary-aged students, strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP processes, differentiation, and classroom management
- Strong collaboration skills with fellow educators, support staff, and families
- Adaptable, caring, and dedicated to creating an inclusive, supportive learning setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to third-grade students in alignment with IEPs and state standards
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to foster growth
- Foster a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes respect and participation
- Communicate effectively with families, multidisciplinary team members, and supervisors
- Complete all required district documentation and participate in meetings or training as needed
