Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary students by supporting their growth and learning as a Special Education Teacher. This contract-based opportunity is for the upcoming academic year, featuring several positions available across inclusion, self-contained, and behavior unit classrooms. All roles are located onsite and specifically serve elementary-level caseloads.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education (SPED) licensure is required and must be verifiable via the Alabama Educator Certification portal.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in a special education setting, including students with diverse needs.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt instruction for varying levels and learning styles.
- Capability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with general education teachers and support staff.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment.
What Youll Do:
- Deliver direct instruction, behavioral support, and individualized interventions for elementary students in either inclusion, self-contained, or behavior unit settings.
- Develop and implement IEPs in accordance with state requirements and student needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, families, and administrators to promote student success.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of student progress, goals, and accommodations.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom culture where all students can thrive.
