Help shape the future of students with high behavioral needs at an Intensive Learning Center in a rewarding contract opportunity for Special Education Teachers. This on-site position, commencing August 10, 2026, and running through May 20, 2027, offers a dynamic and supportive work environment where educators can make a meaningful impact. Qualifications:
- Active or pending New Mexico teaching license in Special Education
- Demonstrated experience working in self-contained classrooms or with students exhibiting high behavioral needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and behavioral intervention skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Flexible and resilient approach to daily classroom challenges
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a self-contained classroom for students with intensive learning and behavioral needs
- Develop tailored lesson plans and instructional activities aligned with IEP goals
- Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to address academic, social, and behavioral targets
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide data-driven instructional adjustments
- Foster a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom atmosphere
- Promote positive behavioral interventions and create individualized strategies to support each student
