Job Description

Step into a rewarding role as an elementary special education teacher, supporting students in grades K5 within a resource room environment. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of approximately 25 students, providing individualized instruction and ensuring all learners have the support they need to succeed.

Your key responsibilities will include creating and implementing lesson plans tailored to students IEP goals, working one-on-one and in small groups, and overseeing case management duties as needed. Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

What youll bring to the role:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification for grades K5 (required)
  • Previous experience working as a special education teacher in an elementary setting
  • Resource room experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
  • Experience as a case manager considered a plus
  • Effective communication and organizational skills

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, adapt, and deliver lessons based on IEPs and student needs
  • Serve as a case manager for students, maintaining accurate records and coordinating meetings
  • Monitor and assess student progress, making adjustments as necessary
  • Partner with fellow educators and families to support student growth
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom culture
