  • Accredited bachelors degree
  • Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) teaching certificate
  • Experience with self-contained or small group classrooms preferred
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning atmosphere
  • Collaborative mindset for working closely with teachers, aides, and specialists
  • Ability to modify core academic curriculums and implement individualized education plans
  • Completion of TEA fingerprint clearance prior to start date

In this important role, you will:

  • Guide and inspire elementary students in a life skills, autism spectrum, or behavior support classroom
  • Modify instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners using innovative strategies
  • Oversee small group rotations in a centralized, self-contained setting
  • Encourage student participation in school-wide activities, such as Art and PE
  • Effectively manage differentiated learning and provide hands-on support in daily activities
  • Maintain detailed documentation and coordinate with district staff to ensure compliance

Enjoy a stable full-time schedule (37.5 hours/week) from your start date through late May 2027, with placements at either Rutherford or Shands Elementary in classrooms designed for holistic student growth.
