Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state eligibility required)
- Experience in substantially separate classrooms preferred
- Background in specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis (ABA) strongly desired
- Comfortable supporting students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities
- Experience working with students on the spectrum and/or non-verbal students a plus
- Willingness to provide toileting support as needed
- Able to work onsite, full time
Responsibilities:
- Instruct and support students in K1st grade or 3rd5th grade in substantially separate classrooms
- Adapt curriculum using evidence-based strategies
- Collaborate with RBTs and additional classroom support staff
- Deliver specially designed instruction and behavior interventions as needed
- Maintain positive communication with families and school teams
- Promote student independence and engagement
