Make a difference in the lives of students by sharing your expertise as a full-time Special Education Teacher working with 4th and 5th grade resource classes. This contract opportunity near Phoenix, AZ allows you to support and inspire a diverse group of learners, helping them succeed academically and socially. You'll be part of a collaborative school environment, focusing on a manageable caseload of 20-25 students.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience teaching elementary students, specifically in special education or resource settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and fellow educators
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet individualized student needs
- Knowledge of current best practices in special education
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging, differentiated instruction to 4th and 5th grade students within a resource classroom setting
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student in your caseload
- Work closely with general education teachers to ensure student integration and inclusion
- Conduct progress monitoring, assessments, and reporting as required
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student development and goals
- Foster a safe, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment conducive to learning and growth
