Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a thriving school district near Phoenix, AZ. This full-time role is available at several schools throughout the area, including locations in zip codes 85015, 85040, 85019, 85004, 85017, and 85339, with an emphasis on meeting the needs of diverse student populations. Multiple positions are open across various special education programs, including Inclusion/SUCCESS, Practical, CBT, and STRIVE. All positions are onsite and not remote.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • Standard Arizona Secondary Teaching License required.
  • Valid K-12 Special Education teaching certification.
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card must be current.
  • Certification or strong experience in CBT and/or STRIVE programs.
  • Previous background supporting students with emotional disabilities and varied eligibility needs, with a keen understanding of at-risk, limited English proficient, and exceptional student profiles.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and district special education requirements for documentation and service delivery.
  • Completion of, or willingness to participate in, Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) staff development.
  • Must reside within 30 minutes of one of the listed locations.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to students with a range of learning needs, focusing on inclusion and life skills as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement IEPs and behavior intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with educational teams, families, and support staff to create supportive learning environments.
  • Participate in scheduled staff development, including CIE (July 21-24) and regular school-year inservice.
