This dynamic role serves a wide spectrum of learners, spanning early childhood through high school, including Pre-K, Kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school levels. You will collaborate closely with other professionals to support students academic, social, and emotional growth in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credential
- Experience teaching students in any of the following: Pre-K, K-5, 6-8, or 9-12 grade levels
- Knowledge of instructional strategies for diverse learners, including those with mild-to-moderate and moderate-to-severe disabilities
- Strong ability to differentiate lessons in foundational subjects, including mathematics
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with staff, families, and service providers
- Previous experience writing and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engaging, individualized lesson plans tailored to special education students at multiple grade levels
- Adapt and deliver curriculum content, ensuring accessibility in subjects such as math
- Assess student progress, track data, and adjust interventions as needed
- Partner with general education teachers and instructional assistants to foster an inclusive classroom environment
- Facilitate IEP meetings, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate student needs to relevant parties
- Create a supportive, positive atmosphere that motivates learners of all abilities
