Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-appropriate)
  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred)
  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher or resource teacher in a school setting
  • Comprehensive understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and students
  • Compassion, adaptability, and commitment to equity and inclusion in education

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Provide small group or individualized instruction in the resource classroom
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to address diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
  • Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment
  • Participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development as required
