Job Description
Step into a critical role providing specialized education services for young learners in a vibrant elementary setting. This contract position runs from August 2026 through May 2027, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, collaborative school community near Peoria, AZ.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Arizona Special Education Teacher Certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Strong understanding of IEP writing, implementation, and compliance
- Experience delivering direct instruction to students with diverse learning needs
- Ability to develop and carry out a full continuum of special education services
- Solid communication skills to engage both staff and families
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead a structured K-2 classroom, supporting students on IEPs with high-quality, personalized instruction
- Provide case management; maintain compliance with all federal, state, and district requirements for IEPs
- Accurately document student progress and service delivery
- Consult and collaborate in RtI processes, and work closely with general education staff to implement accommodations and modifications
- Offer ongoing communication to parents and guardians about student growth and strategies used
- Implement behavior management support and behavior intervention plans
- Foster a nurturing, safe learning environment
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support student development
