This full-time contract role (40 hours per week) offers the opportunity to work with both resource and self-contained classrooms, allowing you to support diverse student needs and foster positive growth.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching license (or eligibility for Arizona certification)
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field
- Prior experience with resource and/or self-contained classroom settings
- Strong ability to assess student needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with families, colleagues, and support staff
- Dedication to promoting an inclusive, positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to meet a variety of learning styles and needs
- Create and implement IEPs, monitoring student progress and making data-driven adjustments as needed
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education teachers
- Foster a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families to provide updates, support, and resources
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and multidisciplinary team meetings as required
