Step into an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher for a third-grade classroom this fall. This full-time contract assignment runs from mid-September through December, covering a maternity leave, and offers the chance to be a vital support in a welcoming elementary school environment.
Your days will run Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, allowing for a consistent, balanced schedule where you can focus on supporting a single, dedicated school. Youll be working alongside a committed educational team in a supportive setting that highly values collaboration and professional growth.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Rhode Island Special Education Teacher Certification is required
- Prior experience working with elementary-aged students is strongly preferred
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet individual student needs in an inclusive classroom setting
- Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Collaborative mindset and positive attitude
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support for a third-grade caseload
- Develop and implement lesson plans and accommodations based on IEP requirements
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom community focused on student growth
- Track and report on student progress, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with team members
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development as needed
