Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-27 school year. This contract role offers the opportunity to deliver specialized instruction and support in a collaborative educational setting near Pauline, SC. Youll work closely with a diverse student caseload (to be determined), helping each learner reach their full potential.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
  • Active South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) teaching license in a recognized special education area (such as Learning Disabilities, Multi-categorical, or Emotional Disabilities).
  • Previous experience in a school-based special education environment is highly valued.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt instruction for varied learner needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students goals.
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to support a range of learning needs.
  • Monitor student progress through assessments and record-keeping.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to foster an inclusive, supportive classroom.
  • Maintain compliance with all district and state regulations related to special education.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school activities as required.

Position Details:

  • Contract runs from August 4, 2026, through May 27, 2027 (following the district calendar).
  • 37.5 hours per week, with schedule aligned to the school day.
  • Caseload details provided upon assignment.
