Step into a dynamic, student-centered environment as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle and high school learners. This contract role begins as soon as possible and extends through June, offering the rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of adolescents ages 13 to 18 (grades 812+). Working on-site at one school, youll collaborate with a dedicated team to create a positive and inclusive classroom for a small group of 8 students.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) certification required
• Experience working with middle and high school students, ideally in special education settings
• Familiarity with IEP systems and the ability to write, implement, and track progress on Individualized Education Plans
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Up-to-date fingerprinting and background check clearance required
• Prior exposure to itinerant positions is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver specialized instruction tailored to each students needs
• Develop, implement, and manage IEPs aligned with district policies
• Collaborate with other educators, families, and support staff for student success
• Maintain detailed records in the schools IEP system
• Support transitions, manage classroom behavior, and encourage student engagement
• Attend meetings, including contract review and board sessions, as needed
• Participate in ongoing credentialing processes and follow compliance protocols

This role offers a consistent weekday schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at a single location, supporting work-life balance while making a difference for students at a pivotal stage in their educational journey.
