Make a difference in the lives of students by bringing your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a supportive school environment in the Midland Park area. This full-time contract opportunity runs from October 8th through at least April, and possibly extending to June, offering you a rewarding role in both science and math instruction. Youll work closely with a general education teacher in a co-teaching/inclusion model, supporting a diverse group of learners and contributing to their academic growth.
What Were Looking For:
- Valid TOSD (Teacher of Students with Disabilities) certification plus either K-6, Math 6-9, or Science 6-9 certification
- TOH credential
- Previous experience or strong interest in special education, particularly within inclusion settings
- Confidence and adaptability with IEP management (experience with Real Time IEP system a plus)
- Skill in fostering an inclusive, engaging classroom atmosphere
- Commitment to helping students with high-functioning autism reach their full potential
What Youll Do:
- Co-teach science and math to a classroom of up to 20 students (currently 18), with a specialized caseload of 8 students
- Collaborate with general education teachers to deliver differentiated instruction and support
- Implement and track IEP goals, ensuring each students unique academic needs are met
- Cultivate a positive, respectful classroom environment that values diversity and inclusion
- Communicate regularly with parents, related service providers, and school staff to provide holistic support
