Job Description

Step into an impactful contract position supporting students as a Special Education Teacher within a vibrant classroom near Passaic, NJ. This role offers the chance to work collaboratively in a well-structured environment focused on inclusive education. Starting October 8th and expected to continue through April, with a likely extension until June, you will provide essential co-teaching in Science and Math to a diverse group of students.

Your classroom will feature a unique blend of learnersup to 8 on your special education caseload and up to 20 total in the classroom. Students are primarily engaged in general education, with the main area of need being support for high-functioning autism; no significant behavioral challenges are anticipated. You will utilize the Real Time IEP system and co-teach alongside a general education teacher to deliver high-quality instruction and support.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid TOSD certification plus either K-6, or Math 6-9, or Science 6-9 certification
  • TOH certification
  • Special education teaching experience, ideally in inclusive settings
  • Strong co-teaching abilities and collaborative mindset
  • Experience with Real Time IEP system preferred
  • Expertise working with students on the autism spectrum, especially high-functioning

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in Science and Math
  • Develop and implement IEPs aligned with individual student needs
  • Collaborate daily with general education teachers and support staff
  • Provide an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for all learners
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the Real Time system
