Job Description

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current Mississippi Special Education (SPED) license required
  • Experience teaching in Special Day Classes or similar special education settings preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to adapt instruction to individual student needs
  • Commitment to supporting the academic, emotional, and social growth of students with disabilities
  • Familiarity with IEPs, student progress monitoring, and related special education documentation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to students in Special Day Classes
  • Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom culture that celebrates each students success
  • Engage with families and staff to ensure comprehensive support for each learner
  • Maintain accurate records and timely reporting in compliance with district and state policies

Role Details:

  • Contract position, 37.5 hours per week, single school assignment
  • Full academic year term: July 29, 2026 May 21, 2027
  • Virtual interview process for convenience and ease
  • Training and school onboarding provided; a signed contract is required prior to starting
