Position Overview
Sunbelt Staffing is partnering with a school district in the Pasadena area to identify a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract assignment. This position is designed for an educator who enjoys creating individualized learning experiences and working as part of a collaborative student support team. The successful candidate will help students with disabilities develop academic, behavioral, and functional skills while ensuring their educational plans are implemented effectively.
What You'll Do
- Provide specialized academic instruction based on individual student needs and IEP goals
- Adapt curriculum, assignments, and teaching strategies to improve student accessibility
- Develop and maintain Individualized Education Programs in accordance with applicable requirements
- Collect student performance data and use results to guide instructional decisions
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications
- Coordinate with school psychologists, therapists, administrators, and other support personnel
- Communicate student progress and educational needs with parents and guardians
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and required compliance documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary planning sessions

Qualifications
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential or eligibility
- Appropriate authorization for the students and grade levels being served
- Familiarity with California special education requirements and IEP procedures
- Ability to meet applicable district hiring and background requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
- Graduate-level Special Education coursework is preferred
Experience
- Previous K-12 special education experience is preferred
- Experience in inclusion, resource, or self-contained settings is beneficial
- Newly credentialed educators are encouraged to apply

Compensation for this position ranges from $35.00 to $60.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
