Job Description
Take on a rewarding contract position supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant K-5 setting. Youll collaborate closely with a co-teacher to oversee a caseload of students with mild to moderate needs, ensuring personalized educational experiences and meaningful progress for each child. Your work will directly impact students growth, both academically and socially, within a supportive educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado teaching license with Special Education endorsement
- Previous experience working with students with mild/moderate disabilities (preferred)
- Ability to provide support with toileting needs as required
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction and create individualized education plans (IEPs)
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and accommodations for K-5 students
- Manage and track progress for up to 15 students, with primary responsibility for 11
- Partner closely with a co-teacher to implement effective strategies and maintain a positive environment
- Develop and document IEPs, progress reports, and individualized interventions
- Support students in meeting behavioral, academic, and social-emotional goals
- Work collaboratively with families, administration, and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide hands-on assistance with basic needs, including toileting, as required
