Job Description
Step into a meaningful role supporting students across a wide range of grade levels as a Special Education Teacher. In this contract position near Palmdale, CA, you'll have the opportunity to impact learners from early childhood through high school, adapting instruction to meet diverse needs and help each student reach their greatest potential.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with students in any of the following: Early Childhood, Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grades K-5, 6-8, 9-12
- Strong background in Math instruction
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Passion for working with students with varying needs and abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to teach across multiple grade levels as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction in both academic and social skills
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate learning styles and abilities
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
- Monitor and document student progress, making data-driven adjustments
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators
- Attend relevant meetings and participate in professional development
