Requirements:

  • Valid South Carolina Special Education Teacher Certification
  • Experience or enthusiasm for working with preschool-aged children
  • Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for children with special needs
  • Collaborative spirit for working with colleagues, families, and specialists
  • Effective communication skills and organizational abilities
  • Commitment to nurturing each students unique abilities in a positive, inclusive classroom

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction tailored to the needs of preschoolers with developmental delays
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with state guidelines
  • Utilize engaging, evidence-based teaching strategies to promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth
  • Work closely with families and support staff to deliver holistic student support
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adapting instruction as needed
  • Foster an encouraging, structured classroom environment that celebrates every learner
