Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification (credential appropriate for CA or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience working in K-12 settings, with flexibility to support students in grades Pre-K through 12
  • Strong background in differentiated instruction and classroom management
  • Ability to individualize math instruction for a range of grade levels
  • Skilled at developing and implementing IEPs
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in special education programs, from Pre-K to 12th grade
  • Adapt lessons and teaching approaches to accommodate individual learning needs
  • Utilize assessments to monitor progress and inform instructional planning
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Document progress and maintain accurate, compliant records
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to a positive, collaborative school culture
