Step into a meaningful role supporting exceptional learners as a Special Education Teacher for a middle school classroom. This contracted, full-time position offers a rewarding experience for the 2026-2027 academic year, from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027. Youll work weekdays from 7:15am to 3:15pm, engaging with a caseload of 12 students in a mild to moderate self-contained setting.
Your expertise will help guide a diverse group of learners toward greater independence and success, creating a positive impact that extends beyond the classroom.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for the appropriate grade level
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field
- Previous teaching experience with students who have mild to moderate disabilities preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Passion for providing individualized support and differentiated instruction
- Ability to implement IEPs and track student progress effectively
- Familiarity with middle school curriculum and best practices in special education
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to meet individual student needs within a self-contained classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals in collaboration with related service providers and families
- Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
- Adapt teaching strategies and materials to promote student engagement and learning
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and progress reports
- Advocate for student supports at team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary discussions
