Key qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification in Cognitive Impairment (CI) required
• Experience or strong interest in working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD)
• Background in managing behavioral and mental health needs in an educational setting
• Effective collaboration skills for working within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to providing compassionate, individualized student support

Core responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction and support to one elementary-aged student (8 or 9 years old) with cognitive and behavioral needs
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the students IEP goals
• Assess and document progress, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize learning outcomes
• Employ behavior management techniques to foster a positive, supportive classroom environment
• Collaborate actively with the schools team to coordinate services, interventions, and support strategies
• Build strong relationships with the student and their support network, ensuring a holistic approach

This role follows a consistent MondayFriday schedule, 7:30 am to 2:45 pm, allowing you to maintain worklife balance while making a significant difference. The assignment is based onsite throughout the contract period and emphasizes a united, collaborative approach to student success.
