Job Description
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at an elementary school in Oxford, ME. This role focuses on supporting the resource room with a current caseload of 12 students, working alongside two support staff. The position is onsite, offering 37.5 hours per week in a contract-based arrangement.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing specialized instruction and support to students with special needs within the resource room setting.
- Collaborating with support staff and other educators to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies to meet individual goals.
- Maintaining clear and accurate records of student achievements and concerns.
- Communicating effectively with parents, staff, and administration to support student development.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for Maine.
- Experience working with elementary-age students in a resource room or special education setting.
- Strong skills in individualized instruction and behavior management.
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
