Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Prior experience working with students with disabilities in K-12 environments
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, staff, and support personnel
- Adaptability to tailor instruction based on student needs
Responsibilities:
- Create and deliver individualized lesson plans according to each students IEP
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date records
- Implement effective behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and ancillary service providers
- Foster a supportive, achievement-oriented learning atmosphere
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting for student development
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
