Qualifications:
- Must hold active Kansas teaching licensure appropriate for K-12 special education at your preferred grade level (requirement before placement).
- Previous experience teaching special education (life skills, autism, or behavioral settings strongly preferred).
- Understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and ability to implement accommodations and modifications.
- Strong classroom management skills, with an emphasis on positive behavioral supports and fostering inclusive learning environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills when engaging with colleagues, students, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students in life skills, autism, or behavior support classrooms.
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet individual student needs and IEP goals.
- Work within interdisciplinary teams to ensure academic, behavioral, and social-emotional progress.
- Document student progress, maintain required records, and participate in regular IEP meetings.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom where every learner can thrive.
