Job Description
A licensed Special Education Teacher is needed for a contract position in Ottawa, KS. This opportunity involves working within a supportive school environment to provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction in resource room and self-contained settings
- Collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team, including general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Create, modify, and implement IEP goals tailored to each students unique needs
- Maintain documentation and monitor student progress in compliance with state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid Kansas Special Education teaching license required
- Experience with K-12 special education preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Ability to collaborate productively with team members to support student success
- Familiarity with Kansas school systems is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
