Step into a meaningful role serving elementary students as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD). This onsite, contract opportunity is based in a supportive school environment near Osseo, MN. You'll work closely with a small caseloadtypically around 9 studentsproviding individualized educational support and fostering growth in students with developmental cognitive disabilities.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Minnesota Teaching License (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
- Demonstrated experience working with students with developmental disabilities preferred
- Passion and commitment to supporting diverse learners in an elementary setting
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, inclusive instruction tailored to elementary students identified with DCD
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Employ evidence-based strategies to support students academic, behavioral, and social goals
- Maintain thorough documentation and regular communication with families and colleagues
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing program improvement initiatives
