Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as an onsite Special Education Teacher specializing in serving students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities. In this role located near Osseo, MN, you will be instrumental in fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for a caseload of nine students at the elementary level.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required; please ensure your certification and resume are available for consideration)
- Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with students with developmental cognitive disabilities
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and experience with their implementation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with students, staff, and families
- Collaborative mindset, skilled at working with multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to elementary students identified with developmental cognitive disabilities
- Develop and implement effective IEPs, closely monitoring student progress and adjusting strategies as needed
- Create an inclusive classroom culture that promotes engagement, safety, and a sense of belonging
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support diverse learning needs
- Maintain accurate records, attend meetings, and participate in ongoing professional development
- Uphold best practices and compliance with all district, state, and federal guidelines
Position Details:
- Contract assignment beginning approximately August 25, 2026 through June 10, 2027
- Full-time hours: 37.5 per week, Monday through Friday (8:30 am 4:30 pm, 30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Onsite at an elementary campus
