Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid PEL (Professional Educator License) with LBS1 Endorsement as required by state and discipline
  • Experience teaching students with intellectual or developmental disabilities, preferably at the elementary level
  • Familiarity with online curriculum platforms and differentiated instruction strategies
  • Comfortable collaborating with related service providers and paraprofessionals in an inclusive academic setting
  • Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a self-contained classroom for 4th and 5th graders functioning at approximately a second-grade level
  • Design and implement individualized lesson plans using provided online curriculum
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment tailored to student abilities and goals
  • Coordinate student services with on-site OT, speech, and social work professionals
  • Track student progress and adapt strategies as needed in partnership with support staff and families
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant educational standards and documentation requirements
