Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement required
  • Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in a school setting
  • Strong understanding of co-teaching models and collaborative instruction
  • Ability to adapt lessons and materials to meet students IEP goals
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate daily with general education teachers to plan and deliver co-taught lessons
  • Implement IEPs and monitor students progress, adjusting strategies to ensure success
  • Utilize differentiated instructional techniques to engage diverse learners
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and progress data
  • Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and timely communication with families
  • Support a positive classroom tone that promotes inclusion and respect
