A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Orland Park, IL, serving a K-2 self-contained Cross Categorical Special Education classroom. This contract position offers the chance to positively impact young learners who require specialized instructional approaches. The role is on-site with a work schedule of approximately 33.75 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained classroom setting.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document student progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and academic growth.
• Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff to support student success.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (e.g., LBS1 or equivalent).
• Experience working with early childhood (K-2) students in a special education setting.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional strategies for diverse learners.
• Ability to manage a self-contained classroom and implement behavior plans effectively.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
