Key Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
- Experience, interest, or training in working with K-8 students across a range of abilities
- Strong classroom management skills, and the ability to adapt and innovate instruction
- Excellent communication skills for building partnerships with families, colleagues, and support staff
- Willingness to complete required onboarding, including fingerprinting
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans in line with students IEPs and state standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that accommodates each learners needs
- Collaborate with paraeducators and other educational professionals to deliver cohesive support
- Communicate regularly with families and caregivers regarding student achievements and areas for growth
