Special Education Teacher (Elementary or Middle School Resource Classrooms)

Location: Omaha, Nebraska area (In-Person)
Schedule: Full-Time

We are hiring a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in resource classroom settings near Omaha, NE. This position will be assigned to either an elementary or a middle school caseload, based on experience and preference.

Position Overview

This role focuses on resource classroom instruction, providing targeted academic and behavioral support to students with varying needs. Youll work with students in small group settings while also collaborating closely with general education staff to ensure alignment with classroom instruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction in resource classroom settings (elementary or middle school)
• Support students through small group and individualized instruction
• Collaborate with general education teachers to align curriculum and accommodations
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
• Track student progress and maintain compliant documentation
• Foster a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment

Qualifications

• Active Nebraska Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement
• Experience working with elementary or middle school students in special education
• Familiarity with resource classroom models and differentiated instruction
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Ability to support a range of academic and behavioral needs
