Empower middle school students with significant learning needs by stepping into a vital contract position as a Special Education Teacher. This onsite role offers the chance to make a real difference within a self-contained classroom setting for students who face severe disabilities. Youll work closely with support staff and other educators, bringing your expertise to shape personalized learning strategies that foster growth and independence in every student.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Active Nebraska Special Education Teacher certification (NE SPED required)
- Previous experience supporting students with severe disabilities, preferably in a self-contained middle school setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to maintaining a positive, safe, and supportive environment
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering highly individualized instruction onsite, adapting lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs throughout the school year
- Developing, implementing, and updating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on student goals and progress
- Working with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to foster a team approach to education
- Tracking and reporting student progress, maintaining detailed records in line with district standards
- Managing a classroom environment that emphasizes respect, structure, and emotional support
- Participating in professional development and faculty meetings as needed
Youll enjoy a consistent 37.5-hour work week onsite, supporting students throughout the academic year from August 13, 2026, to May 27, 2027. This contract offers competitive weekly pay, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, plus a 401(k) retirement plan.
