Job Description

This contract opportunity is exclusively onsite and focuses on providing exceptional educational support to students with diverse needs in a supportive, dynamic environment. Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current state certification in Special Education or eligibility for certification by the assignment start date
  • Previous experience teaching in elementary or middle school special education settings is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IEP processes and ability to craft and implement individualized education plans
  • Familiarity with classroom accommodations, modifications, and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive, organized classroom for students with varied learning styles

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted instruction and behavioral support to elementary and middle school students within resource classrooms
  • Develop, execute, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Partner with multidisciplinary teamsincluding specialists, therapists, administration, and familiesto support student growth
  • Track student progress, adjust lesson plans as needed, and document outcomes
  • Lead classroom management and foster an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere
  • Provide advocacy, mentorship, and encouragement for students with special needs
