Step into a pivotal role supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract opportunity is onsite and offers the chance to work alongside experienced professionals, making a tangible difference in the lives of students in grades 6-8. Youll play a key part in the Learning Resource Center, collaborating within a dedicated team of three LRC educators to ensure each learner thrives.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Washington Special Education Teacher certification/license, or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Ability and willingness to complete fingerprinting through OSPI if not already completed
• Background working with middle school students or within special education settings strongly preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills when working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom for diverse learners

Role Highlights & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support services to a caseload of approximately 40 middle school students
• Collaborate closely with two fellow Learning Resource Center teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum and materials to meet students varied learning needs and goals
• Partner with families, related service providers, and school personnel to support student success
• Maintain accurate records, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with all educational requirements

This is a full-time, onsite position with a schedule of 7.5 hours per day, including a .5 hour unpaid lunch, for the entire 2026-2027 school year.
