Job Description

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Kansas Special Education (SPED) License required
  • Experience working with early childhood and elementary school students, especially those with intensive needs
  • Proven ability to create inclusive and differentiated lesson plans
  • Strong classroom management skills; ability to maintain an engaging, supportive learning environment
  • Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs), assessments, and progress monitoring
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and support teams
  • Prior experience in an autistic classroom setting is highly valued

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of early childhood and elementary students with intensive needs
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with a multidisciplinary team
  • Adapt curriculum and lesson materials to diverse learning styles and requirements
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Engage in ongoing assessment and data collection to measure student progress
  • Collaborate with parents, therapists, and school personnel to support each students holistic development
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
