Ideal qualifications and experience:

  • Valid Kansas Special Education teaching license required
  • Experience supporting K-12 students preferred
  • Knowledge of both resource room and self-contained teaching environments
  • New graduates are encouraged to applyenthusiasm and commitment matter just as much as experience!
  • Familiarity with Kansas school systems is a plus, though not mandatory
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Comfortable participating actively in IEP meetings
  • Skilled in creating, implementing, and modifying IEP goals to meet student progress

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction and support services tailored to students with varying learning abilities
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and support staff for holistic student support
  • Conduct and contribute meaningfully in IEP meetings, ensuring compliance and advocacy
  • Develop and adapt IEP goals based on ongoing student assessment and progress monitoring
