Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher license, with appropriate grade-level certification
- Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with staff and families
- Ability to create differentiated lessons for diverse learners in an elementary setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students with varying learning needs
- Design, monitor, and modify IEPs to support individual student growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Communicate progress with families and contribute to IEP meetings
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and compliance documentation
