Job Description

Essential Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher license, with appropriate grade-level certification
  • Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices
  • Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with staff and families
  • Ability to create differentiated lessons for diverse learners in an elementary setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to elementary students with varying learning needs
  • Design, monitor, and modify IEPs to support individual student growth
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
  • Communicate progress with families and contribute to IEP meetings
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and compliance documentation
