Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting the academic journey of a 2nd grade student as a Special Education Teacher. This assignment is based on-site and offers your choice of a part-time or full-time schedule, running from now through August. Youll work closely with one student in a 1:1 setting at a single school, focusing on individualized learning strategies tailored to their unique needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Education is required
- Valid New York State teaching certificate in Special Education
- Certification must cover 2nd grade or all grade levels in Special Education
- Ability to meet district or state-specific requirements for licensure
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 instruction and support to a 2nd grade student with special needs
- Adapt classroom materials and instructional strategies to create an engaging and supportive learning environment
- Collaborate regularly with the school team and family members to monitor progress and set goals
- Maintain accurate records of student growth and development
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that respects and values each learner
This contract position offers weekday hourseither approximately 3 hours daily or a full school day (7.5 hours), Monday through Fridayallowing you to tailor your schedule to your preferences.
