Job Description

Youll work closely with one student in a 1:1 setting at a single school, focusing on individualized learning strategies tailored to their unique needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Education is required
  • Valid New York State teaching certificate in Special Education
  • Certification must cover 2nd grade or all grade levels in Special Education
  • Ability to meet district or state-specific requirements for licensure
  • Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
  • Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 instruction and support to a 2nd grade student with special needs
  • Adapt classroom materials and instructional strategies to create an engaging and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate regularly with the school team and family members to monitor progress and set goals
  • Maintain accurate records of student growth and development
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that respects and values each learner

This contract position offers weekday hourseither approximately 3 hours daily or a full school day (7.5 hours), Monday through Fridayallowing you to tailor your schedule to your preferences.
