Desired Qualifications:
- Current Rhode Island Department of Education certification as an All Grades Special Education Severe Intellectual Disabilities Teacher
- Experience teaching students with severe to profound disabilities at elementary level
- Deep understanding of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and adaptive curriculum
- Patience, creativity, and strong communication skills
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset focused on student-centered learning
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualized instruction for elementary-age students with severe/profound intellectual disabilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in coordination with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Adapt lessons to meet a diverse range of learning and developmental needs
- Assess student progress using a variety of functional and academic measures
- Foster a supportive classroom culture that prioritizes safety, respect, and inclusion for all students
- Communicate effectively with staff and caregivers to support students goals
