Desired Background:

• Valid Connecticut special education teacher certification
• Experience supporting high school students in resource and/or inclusion environments
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially when working with families and multidisciplinary teams
• Compassionate, adaptable, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction based on IEP goals and curriculum standards
• Adapt lesson plans and classroom activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs
• Participate in IEP meetings, progress reporting, and ongoing team collaboration
• Create an inclusive, supportive atmosphere where all students can thrive academically and socially
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, staff, and families to ensure successful inclusion and resource support
• Manage and oversee case files, progress notes, and student data in compliance with all regulations
