This contract-based position offers a fulfilling opportunity to provide crucial Special Education services within substantially separate classrooms for grades K-1 and 3-5. Youll play a vital role in fostering growth, independence, and confidence in students who require specialized support, working collaboratively with a dedicated team and utilizing your expertise every day.
What were looking for:
- Licensure or certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Applied experience with specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis (preferred)
- Comfort and skill supporting students with a range of significant cognitive and physical disabilities
- Experience managing or assisting with toileting needs in a school setting
- Ability to adapt approaches for non-verbal and on-the-spectrum students
- Strong communication and collaboration skillsworking alongside RBTs and paraprofessionals as needed
- Commitment to an onsite, full-time contract position
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt individualized educational programs for students in substantially separate classrooms
- Work alongside support staff to meet students physical, communicative, and academic needs
- Provide instruction that incorporates a variety of evidence-based strategies, including ABA as appropriate
- Track and measure student progress, reporting outcomes to staff and families
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful classroom environment for students with severe needs
