Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility) for North Carolina
• Strong background working with middle school students in special education settings
• Experience with mild to moderate needs in a self-contained classroom is highly valued
• Ability to manage individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Skilled in adapting curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom management for various learning styles
• Positive attitude, patience, and effective communication with students, parents, and staff

Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction to a caseload of 12 students with mild to moderate disabilities in a self-contained classroom
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, tracking progress and goal attainment throughout the academic year
• Foster an inclusive, supportive environment to encourage independence and social-emotional growth
• Communicate regularly with families and support staff, offering meaningful feedback and collaborating on best practices
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to support academic and behavioral success
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal requirements

This position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:15am to 3:15pm, allowing for consistent work-life balance during the school year. You'll play an essential part in empowering students to reach their full potential through tailored instruction, support, and encouragement.
